Te Quiero Betis!

Sunday we went to the other Sevilla soccer team, Real Betis. It is called Real Betis because the Romans called the Guadalquivir River the Betis River, and it is a major street in the city. I actually had more fun at the Betis game than the Sevilla one, and the team colors are green and white (Go Green! Go White!). It was an "amistoso" game, so all proceeds went to a children's cancer charity. Best 6 euro I've spent here! The catch was, it wasn't current players, but "landas," or futbol legends. I'd almost rather that though because we got to see a combination of amazing players, whether they were retired or not. The only thing I'm bummed about is that I didn't get to see Ronaldo play. Then again, the game was against REAL MADRID, one of the most decorated teams in the world! Best soccer in the world, and I got to watch it! It's also interesting to me that as much as the Spanish love their beer, they do not serve alcohol at the games or the bull fights. And people have no problem with that because that is how passionate they are about it.
There were some amazing plays, and crazy goals scored off of headers! Unfortunately, Betis lost 3-2, but it was tied for the longest time!

After the game, I went for a walk around the centro, just meandering. I got lost, but found my way. I'm at the point where I am never really lost for longer than 5 minutes, which is nice. I stopped by one of my favorite bakeries, a little French one on the corner of Plaza Nueva that has the best croissants. You get a chocolate filled one for 1,30 and it is the best decision you'll make all day. After that I wandered around the old book fair, but didn't find much to my interest.
